[ubuntu] automate ifconfig command?

I manage to get Ethernet over Firewire working between my Windows XP desktop and my Ubuntu 10.10 laptop.

However, I am getting tired of having to manually issue the *ifconfig* command every time.

How can I automate it so that the command is done at bootup?
