Simple question. I use the Ctrl-Opt-Command-Eject keys to shut down my Mac when I'm in a hurry. Is this the equivalent of "sudo shutdown now" command in Linux? I just want to make sure it's a safe way to shut down. TIA.

yes, According to me it is equivalent to shutdown
It is not safe all the time.
